When commercial photographers do composed tabletop shots (like a pyramid of apples), they use MORTICIANS WAX. Just a tiny pinch holds things together tight until you take the arrangement apart.

I bought some to make centerpieces but found another great use:

I wear a lot of pins/brooches and I've lost a bunch of them because the findings were too loose and came undone. Now, I work a pinch of morticians wax in the pin finding: in the hinge and in the catch. Holds great!
