Haven't seen this on the message boards so I'm adding. there is a new series on BBC2. The title is something like the search for the best British Home Sewer. There is one episode out and the second says it airs on April 9th.
The first episode (all 58 minutes) airs on YouTube and it's also available at bbc.co.uk/sewingbee
They have about 10 home sewers who compete for the title. The first show they had 3.5 hours to make an a-line skirt from a pattern - to fit the manequin. Then they had 1 hour to take a plain blouse and alter the neckline. The next day they had to fit a dress pattern to a real model (a real person - not a fashion model). they obviously had picked dress patterns before and came with them and the fabric.
Then one person was sent home.
It was interesting. Kind of the anti-project runway.
