Has anyone tried putting the new service pack on their 830 yet. It is suppose to correct the issues we were all having with the last update such as the hook not swinging out when a D foot was on the machine and the thread being pulled out of the needle after cutting.

I'm tempted to give it a try but my machine has been behaving so nicely I'm not sure I want to ruin a good thing!!

It means re-installing version 32.44.80 and then install the service pack.

My tech installed these a couple of months ago on my 830 and everything is working beautifully.

BTW, the updates to my machine have all worked well but that is not the case with some of the other owners.

You may want to think about taking your machine in and having the tech install the update/SP. That way he/she can test it and if it is problematic, adjust the machine or uninstall the firmware.

Maybe I need to try reinstalling the latest update and service pack again. I installed them when they first came out and the thread was still being pulled from my needle when I used the scissors at the end of a seam. So, I reinstalled the update that was before the latest one and everything is working perfectly. Since I don't intend to buy Paintworks or Crystalworks, what would be the benefit of the latest update for me?

Patricia,
I don't think there is any benefit in your case. The SP will give you your LE splash screen though.

I've got my splash screen back already. There's a separate fix on the website just for that -- or at least there used to be unless they've removed it.

I'm in the same boat as Sew Nanny. I was experiencing two major issues with the update. As soon as I installed the older update those two issues went away. I suppose it can't hurt to try again........I can always go back if it doesn't work.

I wouldn't mind have a tech do the install but the machine is so darn heavy to take in just for that and she isn't due for maintenance for another eight months.

I had so many issues with the update in October, that I will not do an update on it again. I put the one from 2011 back on my 830 and all the issues that update caused went away. There are still people in the yahoo group that are having issues even with the new service pack. So for me, it is not worth the hassles the updates cause. It is disappointing, but I have no need of anything the update offers and my machine works perfectly, so why chance messing it up again?
