Nothing I do is "easy", no matter what the pattern envelope says Buy the time I do all my adjustments, it's just not "easy" anymore.

Anyway, I found Simplicity 1740 at Wal-Mart today for $.97. It looks like a really easy, breezy top for Spring/Summer. My concern is, I'm a DD cup size. This has two seams going down the front. Kinda like a princess without the curve. How would I do an FBA on this?

I'm not sure about your pattern number - couldn't even find it at the Simplicity site!

If it's like this one (and I know I've seen another similar to this, just cant find it and this is the one I have) -

Then you have a choice - leave it loose below the bust (I've only made one and it's not even semi-fitted, lol), rotate the dart to the seam (like a waist dart), or add a side dart where there currently isn't one. These "princess seams" really do almost nothing as far as fitting. They are more like panels where you can play with color blocking.

Donna, Yes! Thank you .... It's view C. The pattern I picked up was at Wal-Mart, one of those Sew Simple patterns that only highlights one garment.

Not being the typical Princess seam, I wasn't sure how to go about this. I suppose I could do it as a princess seam would be altered, and rotate the side dart to the bottom, then eliminate that dart by redrawing the side seam. I think I'll just make up a muslin doing it that way and see what happens. With out an FBA, even if it does run big, the girls are still doing to lift it up in the front, so I'll need that extra length. I just need to see where those seams are going to fall. I'm not a fan of them going straight over my bust...I like my seams a little off center
