Hump showing after heming pencil skirt

I serged the raw edge at the hem of a pencil skirt I'm making. I used the longest stich lenth and a narrow 3 three thread edge and it looked flat before I hemed the skirt. After finishing I see that the serged edge seems to show as a hump on the right side of the skirt. Is this always a problem or do you think I did something wrong.? The fabric is woven but has 3% lycra. The only thing I could think of doing was cutting through the threads and removing the serging but that would require reheming and a lot more trouble. I could understand if the edge looked more like a rolled edge where the stiches are very close together and looking like a satin stitch but they are well spaced. Any ideas to fix and for this not to happen on my next skirt?

Did you press the raw edge after serging it and before hemming it?

Trim the seam from serged edge up to where the top edge of the hem I'll meet with the rest of the skirt.

Do a mock up first so you can see how much to trim from the seam length.

I pressed up the hem before I mitered the corners at the back vent. I interfaced with bias cut tricot interfacing and hand stitched hem to the interfacing. When I hung up the skirt I saw the lump where the serged edge showed on the right side of the skirt. Hope I can upload this photo.

I don't think that I was successful in posting the picture of the hem I've requested help with. Any ideas of what works? I clicked on image and used the link that came up when I took the Iphone picture and sent it to my email address. I guess that's not the way to do it but don't see another way.

Try saving the photo to your computer, then upload it here:

www.tinypic.com

Tiny pic will generate code for you to copy. Look for the snippet that starts with http:// and ends with .jpg. (I think it's called "direct link for layouts") Copy that code. In this forum, click Image, then paste the code. New text will appear here that starts with an IMG SRC tag. That will display your pic after you submit the form.

Test to see whether your photo shows up by clicking on "Preview" at the bottom left of the Post screen. That way, you'll know before you post your message. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it right. Good luck!

When you pressed the hem, did you press over the serged edge? Sometimes this will make the serging look like a lump along the hem. If this is what happened, press the skirt (on the wrong side) above the hem. Press up to, but not over, the serging. This should flatten out the bump. If you press from the right side, don't press over the serged edge, just up next to it. Hope this makes sense!
