I have always loved the look of the dress on the pattern envelope. For some reason I am drawn to it!
But I also have heard some negative comments about some of the drafting and the patterns.
I was looking for review but there aren't any and I didn't find much searching the internet either. Anyone have any thoughts about this particular pattern?

I haven't made that particular dress, but I have made several hot patterns... Some are FANTASTIC and I will never part with the patterns in a hundred years (Sunshine top, riviera cardigan), and some would take more tweaking than I'm willing to give. I think this is mostly because my shape isn't what they're designed for. Generally my thoughts on hot patterns are to follow Trudy's instructions and MAKE A MUSLIN! That's the only way you're going to know if it works for you or not.

I think that a big part of the reason you see so many mixed comments about HotPatterns is that they're generally drafted for a curvier body type than a lot of other pattern companies.
For me, they usually work well--I'm a large-busted hourglass. But like any other pattern company that I've sewed more than a few things from, I've had a couple of duds. But, more often than not, I've been happy with my HP projects. (I do have the pattern for the AD Virtue dress in my stash but haven't tried it yet.)
