I saw fusible thread used in the bobbin on an episode of Fon's & Porter this past weekend. Interesting. I wonder if the vintage machines can use it? What about the newer Kenmore's ?
Drop in bobbins as well as vertical or no ?
Many thanks.

Maybe these instructions will help, assuming that it's the same brand.

Oh thank you. The show I watched used it in purse making.

Ditto, it is nothing new. It may still be found with sewing notions at your fabric store.

using it in the bobbin is easier. I used it with my Janome AQS2009 without problems. There are some youtube tutorials on "Carlottes Fusible Web" to help you figure things out. Gutterman fusible doesn't do what the Superior Threads one does, in that after you iron you can't just pull off the monofilament thread.

The fusible thread I bought was very thick and wouldn't fuse. I had to use a hand sewing needle, and wanted to use it for sewing on quilt binding. Darn thing wouldn't melt!

Maybe this is not such a good idea. Thank you for all the responses. I had never seen it before so I did not know it has been used quite a long time.
