A few years ago I found a pristine #40 Queen Anne Singer table which happily houses my 1951 Singer 201-2. There is a lock on the little drawer but no key. The drawer is unlocked but I was wondering how to find a key. Since I do not know what it should look like, it is tough to do a search. Any leads or information appreciated.

A couple of ideas that may be useful:
Check places like eBay. Etsy is another place to check for sewing machine keys. On both eBay and Etsy, it's also worth searching for "steam punk keys" - antique keys seem to be popular raw materials for steam punk jewelry.

The older cabinet keys generally have a triangular or square shaped "peg" at the end that fits into the lock. This type of lock is not especially sophisticated. If this is the type used for your cabinet, you may be able to determine from your lock (with a bright light and magnifying glass) what shape of key you need.

I looked at both sites but haven't a clue as to what I should be looking for. I think my cabinet is more recent because of the condition. I also posted on Yahoo Group Vintage Singers--- If there were a surefire way to narrow the possibilities... I think I might be looking for a needle in a haystack.

There are several on eBay right now. I could use one as I have the same desk but the drawer is locked:
