Hands down - Ann. That dress and jacket took my breath away.

What a gorgeous jacket she made. The dress was also great. She has a classic style to her.
What did you think of Lauren and the dress she made? That was what I was thinking--cut in apart and sew back together. It was lovely.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

Definitely Ann's! I'm confident they would fit properly and would be very well made.

Another Ann fan here. That said, I had a soft spot for Stuart's work. He's not a dressmaker, and that put him at a huge disadvantage, but I think he brings a lot of creative thinking to projects.

I love the history section on this program. I am wondering if anyone on here knew of someone(or themselves) who had a dress or other made from one of those silk maps?

karen - weren't those amazing? I really wanted to see and feel those. Quite wonderful and I am not sure I had ever heard of those maps before.

I don't know about the silk maps, but my Grandmother would tell us about dyeing and then making clothes from silk parachutes used in the war. Apparently there is a lot of fabric in a parachute!

Oh I would wear Lauren's evening dress if I had the figure for it! Which sadly I don't. But it had such a beautiful bodice...
Mind you, I loved Ann's lace overlay classic dress too, beautiful blue and black fabrics combined so nicely.

Ann is definitely the most skilled seamstress of them but I like Laurens style of clothes more, a little more youthful, classic with a twist
