Hi there, first time project for me and not quite sure what I'm doing - I'd like to make a beanbag chair that with houndstooth print, but not sure how much fabric or which pattern to use. I'd like to make it adult size, and not sure which type of fabric is best. Having a hard time finding large print houndstooth, was looking at this fabric:
Please let me know any thoughts / advice!

Burda had their bean bag chair pattern, sold for a long time out of the Burda pattern drawers at fabric stores. Looks like discontinued now, but I think that was quite recent. If you want a real tissue paper pattern that you don't have to draw up, maybe just check some fabric stores, look in the drawers there, and maybe they still have some. It was Burda 8373. Look at google images here, so you know what it looks like.
If you go with that one, you could just use the yardage requirement on the back of the sewing pattern even.
The main thing that holds all those "beans" is the inner bag, and that is what needs to be strong, and not rip out, when people plopping down onto it. So for the outer fabric you could use any fabric. But just some thin woven cotton is not all that strong, and probably won't last forever but if it's the fabric you love, and matches your decor, it would work, just that you might have to replace the outer cover a lot more often, over use, than using something else.
