Hi Everyone!
Im a beginner and sewing and Im looking to do most of my sewing in the cosplay arena although Im sure Ill end up throwing my own fashion in the mix. Currently I am looking for a pattern that is close to this outfit, that I could possibly alter. Its a very simple dress (I think) but as a newbie I would much rather work from a pattern then from scratch! If anyone could suggest a few possibilities that would be amazing!

Reference Image
Thanks!

It looks to me like you could add the collar to any halter dress. It may even be easier to make it a separate piece on top. And when you get to the skirt, just finish the fabric edges instead of sewing the side seams, lol.

Halter dresses aren't my thing, so I don't know of a good one off hand.

OK, S 3823 might be a good start point.

Except when you get to the skirt, instead of using theirs, cut 2 rectangles. Measure around yourself at the point where you would like to have the top of the slit. Divide that in half, and add seam allowance on each side. For length measure from the bottom of the "waistband" down. Add seam allowance at the top, and hem allowance at the bottom.

Sew the (minimal) side seams of the skirt, then sew parallel basting stitches along the top - I'd try it first with just the sides (so the CF and CB are flat). Gather just enough to ease the fabric to the waistband. You can actually use any gathering method you prefer - I like the zigzag-over-dental-floss method.
