I have a beautiful "little girl" monogram on cotton-linen fabric and I have found a precious complimentary fabric in the Joann "Tutti Frutti" collection to use for a ruffle and the back of the pillow. Problem is, the complimentary fabric is poly-cotton. Is it OK to sew cotton to poly-cotton? HELP!!!

It will be fine, not to worry.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

Why do you think it would matter?

If they had completely different care requirements you might not want them in the same piece, ie if one was "dry-clean only" and one was "do not dry-clean". But apart from that I can see any situations where sewing together fabrics of two different fibre compositions would cause a problem.

You probably should wash and dry both fabrics before sewing because the cotton will probably shrink differently than the poly-cotton. I have often mixed fabrics with no problem.
