My DD has asked me to line a white knitted halter top that she bought and just loves . . . but it is to 'holey' for her comfort level, especially at work. I have no worries about doing the actual work, just don't know what lining to choose. She requested nude/skin tone for color.

It's a summer top; should the lining be cotton? Stretch? Help!

I use this for lining knits. This darker nude is sold out but she has a lighter nude if you think that might work. It's very nice quality.

I just purchased the "Chateau Single Knit Ecru" from Fabric.com for linings @ $1.59/yard...I am hoping for the BEST! I had ordered from Highend Fabrics on ebay - they have a tissue knit but it is rayon and shrinks every time it is washed - hoping the polyester is more stable. The lining has to feel good against my skin - do not like the feel of tricot at all!

I'm wondering if you should line it in white instead of nude...if she's wearing this halter to work lining it in nude is going to look like there is nothing underneath and might look really inappropriate. Just my 2 cents.
What are you thinking?

I'm thinking nude is a mistake too, but I've ordered a couple of lightweight jersey knits from Gorgeous Fabrics in beige-ish colors; and some white, off-whites. I figure I'll find some use for the ones that don't work.

Thanks for your suggestions. Before I had any of your replies, I emailed Ann @ Gorgeous Fabrics and she recommended a lightweight rayon jersey so that's what I ordered. I was already at her website to get a gorgeous Hawaiian print that she had posted to Facebook.
