Just an update...I still have my Babylock bl3-408 in pieces...can't find the part I need ("seam width adjusting shaft")...good news is that Babylock actually sent me a parts diagram of the seam width adjust components and lower knife components even though they didn't have the part in stock.

Found 3 babylocks that have the same parts (408-418) but ran out of cash and couldn't buy them

Was actually thinking of having someone machine the part for me...Would this be a good idea?
