I would like to sell my sewing machine (BabyLock Symphony) but I'm not sure where or how to go about selling it and how much to ask for it. I've only had it a couple years but have not used it more than a dozen times so it doesn't have much "wear-and-tear" on it.

Thanks.

There is a yahoo group called SewItsForSale, or you can put it in the classifieds here on PR. Not sure if you have to be a paying member to do that or not. Ebay is another option.
Otherwise, Craigs list if you don't want to ship it. To get a value on the machine, go to ebay and see what others have sold for recently. Good luck!

I find Craig's list is the best way to find buyers in your area. Also, as previously stated, check the SOLDS section of eBay to see what people would actually pay for it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out Ebay and that gave me an idea of what it'll go for. We live in a small town so CL isn't so popular here. I'm also curious what the dealer's in my town (Janome and Bernina) would be willing to give me for a trade...if at all. We'll see.

You could post it on the classifieds here. I sold a machine like that & people know what they want & to ask questions when you list on PR. Just a thought...... free to list it too.... Ebay has hefty charges sometimes to sell things.

Love your username. I too am a 'retiredpagirl'. And I live in a small town in PA that doesn't have CL. What I do is either sell my stuff here, on PR, or SewItsForSale, a yahoo group. Just go into yahoo, click on Groups, do a search for SewItsForSale (no spaces) and they will ask you to sign in. You will need to be "accepted" by the moderators, but there is no fee. There is a prescribed way to list your item and if you will look in the Files, section, you will find how to do that. You can PM me here on PR if you want help.
