I had the inspiration today to use a trim along one side of the center seam of a tunic I want to make. One small problem -- I'm not sure such a thing exists. I looked at the fabric store and found nothing, then came home and did an online image search and still turned up nothing. What I'm picturing is a tape that would be sewn into the seam, and on one edge of the tape there's a line of small beads.

Ha, maybe if this doesn't exist, I should invent it.

But does anyone know what I mean, and who might sell it?

Here are some options. I think RE325 Embellished Trim Opalescent Seafoam 3/4" Wide is close to what you're describing, at least if you want it in seafoam green. If you continue to page through the selection in the link below, there are some other colors.

Thanks! That's the kind of thing I meant, except maybe with smaller beads.

Those are seed beads...you're probably not going to find anything smaller than that.

OK, thanks. I'm wondering if I should just sew some beads on...

Is there something you don't like about the seed bead tapes?

No, they're just slightly too elegant for what I'm wanting to do.

Okay, this example is 'elegant' but I suggest you contact this company and ask what they might have:

5/8" netting for edge stones

Or if you could get the color you want, this sort of thing might work: Picot Edge elastic

It's available from Kathy's Lace & Elastic Outlet also.

Thanks! Although thoses two links are giving me scary-looking security warnings.

Do you have a web page for Kathy's Lace & Elastic? Everything I find for them is from secondary sites like eBay and etsy.

I suppose another thing to do is to buy some bias tape and stitch a strip of beads to it by hand.
