I just stumbled onto this.

Electric Rotary Cutter

I'd love to try one out or see it in action.
It'd have to be pretty amazing at that price.
It could be nice for a fabric store although my JoAnn's still uses scissors.

They use much bigger versions of these in factories.I wouldn't use this without a wire mesh glove like they also use in factories. One miscut with these babies and you've lost a finger. I'll hold on the my manual one for now. My hand would love it though, no pain.

Looks like your fingers would be safe but would be hard to use for quilting as you could have to draw all your lines. Couldn't use next to a ruler. But for clothing patterns it would be great.

Holy crap...I would hurt myself with that. Not to mention the potential for ruining a piece of fabric in record time!

Looks scary to me. I see a good horror movie coming out of this: "Revenge of the Quilters" perhaps

It weighs over 2 POUNDS! That would not save me from any pain, even if I did manage to not cut off a finger.

My shoulder hurts just thinking about using it.

Plus the vibration would also cause pain - I've tried electric scissors before, they are not at all comfortable for the hand/wrist. Better to just have sharper scissors.

Until I watched the demo I thought it could be used with a ruler.
But it looks like it's made primarily for upholstery fabric.
Also, in the demo, it appeared that when it started the initial cut that it was a bit ragged. Not too impressive as a marketing visual.
