I look best in white, black, gray, and other Color Me Beautiful colors for winters. Yet nearly every linen fabric I've found is in warm colors or earthtones.

Are there linens for us cool color wearers?

I'm trying to screw up the courage to try Style Arc's Layla Dress. I think it'd be great in linen. While I'm looking for fabric, I'm making a muslin...

I see your colors in linens all over the place. Just this a.m. I was checking this out.
I just received a linen order from NY Fashion Center fabrics...they have all colors of linen.

Am I old fashioned? I want to wear this dress to an afternoon wedding. I was taught never to wear white or black to a wedding.

That gray might be interesting though...

I thought I had seen linen in a saturated royal and deep turquoise somewhere, but I can't remember where.

I've broken the no black at weddings rule many times. I guess I didn't really know it was a rule and people would think something was amiss if I showed up in any other color, probably.

I think that pattern would make a perfect Little Black Dress, one that you would wear everywhere forever.

It would also be great in that grey, too.

I also have worn black to a lot of weddings. Interestingly, these have been the marriages that have turned out to be long lasting.

Have you looked at Waechter's? Vogue Fabrics. has a lot of greys and blacks. The clear jewel tones we winters wear well are very difficult to

Beware the Brussels Washer type linen/rayon blend. It grows on the crossgrain while being worn.

Fabrics-store.com carries pretty much any color you could want. They also do free swatches (up to 5), and if you need more than that, you can order their color cards.

They have an amazing selection but nearly all colors have a warm undertone -- at least what I can see on my monitor.
