Hi, I am looking for recommendations on a book I can buy with good tips and techniques for sewing leather and suede please.
I have never really sewn leather before, but have been given some gorgeous leather I'd like to make into a bag or something.

There's a class on Craftsy by Don Morin called 'Making Leather Bags'. I have enrolled in it, and it's very informative. It's a class specifically about making leather bags (or sewing leather in general) on a home sewing machine. He talks about choosing leather, and what tools and machine settings to use, and lots of info about construction. I don't know if I'll make the specific bag he made, but it definitely inspires me to try my hand at making a leather bag!

I bought this book at a yard sale but have yet to use it myself so I can't vouch for its helpfulness. But, maybe it will give you a good starting point with your search.

Find the accessory book by Laura Bennett. I just found it yesterday at my local library. It's called Homemade Chic. Hope that this helps!

Don't know if you're interested in DVD's but here is Leather is for Every Body by Peggy Sagers from Silhouette patterns. I love and own all her DVD's except the leather and embroidery ones. I never bought them because I don't do either of those.
Peggy has a special till May 14th. Any DVD purchase gets you a box of the box of 100 needles shown here They are the only needles Peggy sews with.

ETA: Just noticed you are in New Zealand. I have no idea about their shipping policies to places out of the USA.

Thank you Lord for my mother who taught me the joy of sewing, for my father and husband who encouraged my sewing, for the talent You gave me to sew, and for all the special people in my life to sew for.
