Besides City Quilter (my favorite store), who else sells decent quality sewing machines in NYC?

Sew Right Sewing Machines In Queens is a great place. I've taken classes with Kenneth King there. The prices are good and the service is excellent. They sell Babylock, Bernina, and Viking. There is also a Pfaff dealer across the street.

I have bought two machines from SewRight, in Bayside Queens, both Berninas. They also sell Babylock, and Viking and I think some Singers, though it doesnt matter what machine you buy there and at what price range, service is excellent, prices are also very good, staff is knowledgable and they offer classes is embroidery software, quilting, dress making,
I even took a leather bag making class there, taught by a 25 year vetarian of the leather bag industry.
The other store if you are interested in Pfaff, Elna or Janome and some Singer models is Sew Time which is right aross the street. They are also excellent but make sure Suzie or John are in when you go.
Some of the sales people are not knowledgable about the machines. But the service is also excellent and the prices are too. City Quilter is a great store but I dont anything about them as a place to buy a machine. They do sell Berninas.
If you go way up town there is another store but have never dealings with them.
