I found a nice Bernina Activa 130 on CL. It looks like a nice machine, but not much information in the ad. Is this machine worth $200.00? I've never used a Bernina, but if I got the opportunity to give one a try I would like too. Thanks for any information you'd like to share.

Well, that's a fair price for sure especially if its in nice condition w/ feet/manual. You could maybe buy the machine...explore/play at your leisure and easily re-sell it for what you paid if you don't love it. The 130 has no adjustable presser foot pressure which normally is not a big deal and if it is, the walking foot compensates for it. Its a very basic model but you're paying a very basic model price (unlike the first buyer)!

Thanks for the info. I've gotten pretty spoiled with my IDT and I've never used a walking foot. I could live without the adjustable presser foot pressure though. I think I'll give them a call and check it out.
I didn't find any reviews here on this machine so I was unsure what to think.

I think this was the first Activa series. If memory serves, there was a 120, 130, 140? followed by the 125, 135 and 145. I'm thinking its maybe 10-12 years old now... They were surprisingly heavy for a 3/4 size machine!

So it has adjustable pressure? That's good to know. In all the years I've sewn, I learned about this feature here on a thread I started a while back. Great info about it on that thread.
That pic is the same machine as the one for sale as best as I can tell. I really like the stainless steel bed.

Ask to sew on it first with fabrics you'll be planning to use. It is a full size machine (vs the 3/4 size activas) and does not have adjustable foot pressure. Disclaimer, those I sewed on were all in a classroom setting or one a customer brought in with an issue this week, I love most Berninas but of all I've sewn on this is one of my least favorites. Even if $200 isn't that much why bother with the hassle of reselling if you can test and decide first?
