I've so had it with this weather. Last night I spent three hours covering lilacs, monarda, tulips, violets, iris, and bee balm because of the frost forecast. While out there, I heard the cat birds with their cacaphony of chirps. A tree swallow (here two weeks early) sat on the telephone wire and chirped at me. I realized that with the cat birds' arrival, spring is (or should be) here, but it's not. And I'm concerned about them; I've not seen any babies yet--especially the swallows, which should be leaving soon.

Then this morning's snow, and it's snowing now. It's supposed to get up to 52 today, but it hasn't gotten over 40 all morning. And tonight is another frost. I'm fed up. Enough already!

I feel your pain. I am in Michigan and we were doing well. Then Sunday and Monday in the 30s. People are cranky

In the 90's here this past weekend in SoCal. We had an extremely hot summer last summer...I really hope we aren't in for more of the same this year.

In Las Vegas we are going into the 95-100 degree mark. In a few weeks it will be over 100 degrees most of the time. Then when it is 90 degrees we will feel cool. Ugh, six months of summer is upon us.
After 15 years living here I should be used to this season but each year is tough to get through. The other 6 months which contain fall, winter and spring are so much nicer. Time to hibernate into air-conditioned homes, cars and stores.

Crazy isn't it.. we had NO winter to speak of in Dallas until spring arrived.. After the first few times. I quit moving my tender plants back indoors.. if they freeze.. they freeze.. Ironically this is the year I sprung for some annuals.. expensive when you consider how many I have to buy.. and that they die after the season.. or even sooner.. so of course.. it would freeze and they probably won't live long..

All is not lost.. if you aren't a fan of San Francisco.. you can always head down to TX. WHERE it will soon be as HOT as Vegas..

The grass is not always greener.. sometimes ... the snow is just whiter..

Gee. .I really hope this does not damage your pickle crop.. that would be a real disaster..

no snow in IA, but really windy and night before last below frezzing. last night was in the low 30's.
My annuals are safe inside my little greenhouse.

our summers are hot and humid. I am told that is what makes the corn grow.

Been in the 60's here for the last few days. That cold blast from the lakes is heading our way for tonight. We are looking to break records(down to 30). Suppose to be back in the 80's by Thursday... Crazy stuff.

Have any of you been affected by that "ice wave" I've seen on TV? It's moving in from the lake and slicing right though homes. There's one in Michigan and another in Canada.

I've been driving to northern WI every 2 weeks for the last 5 months to take care of my dad's property, and every time I go up there it snows...lots of snow! I'm soooo sick of winter.

Hmm. Maybe it's time I bought a ticket. I'm not normally this cranky, but this winter's had me in a state.

Thanks for letting me rant!
