The Collette thread makes me want to ask - what pattern lines are well drafted?

Well, I guess that might be a personal opinion thing, but I think Burda leads the pack, and Lutterloh and Ottobre run it a good second.Ottobre is great but hasn't the range of sizes I would like them to have - really do not go up into the plus sizes.

I have a feeling this is a very personal issue, lol.

If you are similar in size/shape to what they are drafting for, you will find them well drafted! (No matter who "they" are.)

I second that: Ottobre patterns fit together exactly how you would expect them to, every single time. Burda I have less experience with but the patterns I have made up were so precisely drafted. It's just unfortunate that neither of them match the quality of the drafting with really great instructions.

Most pattern drafters draft to fit an idealized model of a person. Whether this idealized model corresponds to a real person is another question.

I know I've had great luck with Burda pants. I've made one Style Arc top so far and didn't have to narrow the shoulders or do an FBA.

I haven't tried Octobre.
