Are you getting Deruta on page 3? I am remembering you like dragons?

"What's for Dinner" frogs on page 1 is more my style...

Yeah the dragons are calling me and autumn fest, dragon slayer and Apple Orchard.

Trying to figure out how to explain to DH why I need $100 worth of quilt patterns lol. These patterns aren't going to be something you can get forever they are sold privately by the designer.

Some of those are really lovely, but you are such a glutton for punishment! So much work.

Shove over on the "wow, cool patterns, I'd never ever do them" bench. I need some space there, too :)

Apple Orchard

I just got the pattern for "Apple Orchard". It's a big piece of paper in real size. This is whole cloth quilt and you just applique on one piece of fabric. It's is a lot of work as you have to trace all the pieces and reverse them if doing fusible which for me is the only way to go plus some embroidery. I had thought of maybe learning other applique methods and have been looking into them but for me doing anything but fusible for this is over whelming. I'm not really sure how to approach this. Trace it all first as I am going to trace it onto vellum and then just trace it on the back to reverse so have to trace it twice then would have to trace onto fusible. Then I thought of tracing the whole pattern on the other side using a window or my makeshift light table. I would guess this would best be sewn with invisible thread around the applique. I not sure even how to begin to quilt this. There's no room, maybe sewing around the bigger pieces? I figure this is at least a 6 month project, if not more. I thinking maybe doing it in units. Then putting the whole unit on background. She really gives no instructions.

I know I'm rambling I think I'm trying to take my mind off the viewing I have to go later today which I'm dreading.
