So I bought the Juki F-600 over a month ago - so far its really good! Although it does pucker my silk chiffon as I sew (any tips?)
So I wanted to know if I should buy an extended warranty for another hundred dollars - I have a 1 year warranty but this extends it for 3 years. Does this powerful machine really need a 3 year warranty? What if any problems have you had to take it in for and how much did it cost? I had never taken in my old singer (bought it for college and lasted me, it was only 99 bucks!) but since this machine has more features I wasnt sure if it was safer to get it, or a waste of money. (I usually get extended warranties for my electronics and I never end up using it )

These have a good reputation but I think I might have gotten an extended warranty if it had been offered on my Janome. Computers can go out rather unexpectedly.
As far as sewing chiffon is concerned, did you lower the foot pressure? Use a good needle (probably a 10 or 11 sharp)? If you still have problems maybe some tissue paper between the fabric and the feed dogs usually helps. There was a thread on here a while back about soaking chiffon in something (starch maybe) and then sewing on it after it has dried. Chiffon is just difficult to sew and it is on my list of "never to sew again fabrics." However, I break my rule if I see a fabric I like...
Oh and congratulations on the new machine!
