I've had no luck locally (within 50-60 miles) getting Woolly Nylon or Polyarn, no one has heard of it! So, I checked on ebay and while I can get some at 5.00+ a cone the shipping is around 8.00 for first and goes up a bit each cone I add. Bit pricy when I'm not sure what colours are best to get - any advice? My kitchen is sage green / browns, probably safe to think I'd make some things for there... apart from that I'm not sure!

Anyone this side of the world recommend anywhere I could try for the woolly nylon? Googling gives me shopping sites that are in the USA, too far, shipping is crazy high. Any suggestions much appreciated

I did get some shiny gold thread and am enjoying the effects when combining it with other thread colours and playing with tensions! Learning a lot, not getting much done

Try Empress Mills - I have bought quite a few different types of thread from them - Their service is usually very good.Empress Mills woolly nylon

Do stores sell Guterman threads? They make it but they don't call it Woolly Nylon. I am at work so I can't look to see what they call it. I have bought it at JoAnn's here in the US. So glad you are enjoying your serger!

Azores Varigated Varisheen
Doesn't that sound gorgeous??? Thanks for that link JH, I will see what their shipping is like tomorrow probably... I asked but it was probably after working hours. Already I like the shop too much methinks.
From it I see there is yet another name for Woolly Nylon, '80s Bulk' ... but if my local shops had it surely they would have told me.
I really really really need someone to close my paypal account. Please!

Marie367, I'm loving it! Husband is delighted for me but wishes I'd stop trying to explain it to him, or making him look into it LOL So far we (1034D) and I are getting on very well.
Tomorrow I'm planning to make my 'tension strips' for each spool in each colour for reference. I'm finding the settings all very interesting in how they work, very simple yet terribly complex. Such odd machines, what a brain it took to devise it!!

I want to get at least 1 woolly nylon, then I can at least bring it around with me for comparison, see if it's here under a name I don't know. That would be great, no shipping cost or waiting time. But if not, ah well ... it's all good :)
