I am considering purchasing several patterns from Style Arc, and am curious about sewers' opinions: about customer service, the fit of their patterns, the correctness/simplicity of the sewing instructions, etc. What has been your experience? I really like their pattern styles and would like to purchase several, but that's a major expense for me. I'd like some input before taking the risk. What has been your experience with Style Arc? Thanks very much in advance.

They have one of the best customer service I have dealt with.

Styles fit closer then you might be used to, and it is like AU RTW. It fits me slightly slimmer then Burda, but they are drafted for a more athletic fit and smaller bust. Nothing I can't cope with with a slight alteration to the seam allowances and an FBA since I like a bit more ease in mine.

They only come in one size, which may or may not be a problem for you.

That's good information to know, and I feel I can confidently move forward with my purchase. I'm excited, and will post my findings to Pattern Review. Many thanks!

If you do a search for "StyleArc"...or "Style Arc", you'll find quite a few discussions of their superb patterns. And of course, there are many, many reviews of their patterns, too. I now list StyleArc as a dependent on my Form 1040; they get more support from me than my kids ever did, I think...

Once you get over your initial hesitation about Style Arc, you'll be in forward motion with their patterns. Most folks have success with them and then the law of inertia sets in. A Style Arc clicky-finger in motion, tends to stay in motion. Early and often. Have fun and keep us posted.

ETA- their customer service is tops! I email my questions and get prompt replies considering the time change difference. My questions have run the gamut from sizing to trickier FBA on the more complex styles. They really think things over and offer detailed responses.

I'm another fan of Style Arc patterns, and am a repeating SA member (see the website for information on that). They're fashionable and easy to sew patterns that seem to fit many with few adjustments, and Chloe, Liz and Lyn are really helpful when you have questions.

But I have to admit that, over time, as the SA pattern line has become more widely recognized and popular, it has taken longer and longer to receive my orders - and I've been ordering less as a result. As a new customer, my early orders took no longer than 2 weeks to arrive (I'm in Oregon). But my last few orders have taken a month+ to get to me. When I haven't heard anything about shipping after a couple of weeks, I've emailed to check on them, and it has still taken a few more weeks to receive them. I'm not sure whether this is typical now or I've just been unlucky. And, while mentioning this isn't to discourage you at all from becoming a SA customer, it might be helpful for you to know that the timing of order processing and shipping can be unpredictable.

Someone mentioned on one of the sewing websites that SA might be moving toward automated printing rather than hand drawn patterns. While it has been so appealing to receive patterns that have been hand drawn, this might help expedite processing for those of us so far away from SA.

Nevertheless, I love supporting small independent pattern companies like SA, and I highly recommend their patterns. - as so many others do.

Good one, Karla!
I love Style Arc. I order every single month. Still have not actually sewn all of the SA patterns I have collected, but have yet to be disappointed with any of the ones I have sewn.
The fit is excellent, they are drafted beautifully and I'm a huge fan of SA patterns.
And FWIW, I am not a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
I'll be 61 Sunday and have the post menopausal body shape to prove it!

My patterns from the past 3 months have been printed instead of hand drawn. This month it took about 9 days from ordering to actually getting it in my mailbox. I have found it takes about 1 week for it to ship and 1 week delivery transit time.

I really like the Style Arc line because of their EXCELLENT customer service and the wearable and modern styles that aren't too precious. I also get a great fit through the upper chest, shoulders, and bust. It is like getting the RTW styles and ease but with the ability to custom fit it to my figure quirks. It is much easier to get a good result when I'm not drowning in inches of extra ease.

I heartily agree with all the positive remarks about StyleArc. I have to make small, minor adjustments but it is so worth it.
