I have noticed there is a new machine from Pfaff...or maybe I only think it is new? Because i don't look at Pfaff's so much...but it is the 3.0 with the small color screen.

My interest in this machine potentially -- would be if I decided to just play it financially conservative and go for this just for the embroidery and call it a day. It would get me off my Brother PE-770 at least and onto something with a color screen to look at for embroidery.

Here is my question though...it says it has a stitch field of 260 by 200mm. --- 200mm is 7.87 inches. according to what I looked up. So my question is...if I have a disk say, by Anita Goodesign with an 8" by 8" size design, is that design only "rounded off" to size in "embroidery language?" In other words would it stitch out in one hooping a 260mm by 200mm stitch field?

Because maybe this 3.0 might be the most affordable option to get you anywhere from a 10 inch by 6 inch design-- out to an 8" by 8" square design-- and that is what I am really after.

I'm pretty sure it's the new and improved Creative 3.0. Viking posted about a new model coming out soon and from the pictures they showed taken during the studio prep is looks like an improved Topaz and it appears to have a larger screen with color also.

I use the 8" x8" Anita Goodesign frequently, and they do fit into the 200mm hoop size.

Oh thank you so much! That was pretty much what I needed/wanted to know.

I did stop by my local sewing shop and learned something else. The Pfaff will not show you a picture of just the specific color block it is working on at a time. Eg. let's say you have two blocks of red in your design, it will give you the color to go to, but upon fast glance it does not show whether it is working on the first block of red...or the second. This is something the Brother's show...The ladies showed me, the Pfaff just gives you the crosshairs symbol moving through the design.

I like that the PE-770 shows the shape of the portion it is working on, I just wish it showed that information in color....thing is...when I am ready for TOL embroidery machine...I am really not drawn to big Brother's .....

Thank you for answering my question -- that was helpful!
