Which sergers (brand, model) are the best ones to buy these days?
I am moving from the USA back to the UK and just might sell my present Bernina serger 2500 DCE - but only if I find something better to buy on the other side when I arrive.

Baby Lock sergers with air threading are the cadillac of sergers. From the 4-thread Imagine and Enlighten to the 8 thread TOL Evolution, which does cover and chain stitch.
Just watch them thread, you will be amazed. You can thread in any order and never have to adjust a tension.
Designer 1, bought in 2000
Simplicity 350 serger, bought about 1997
3 Tajima Neo single head embroidery machines
Digitizer by profession
Embroidery software: Tajima DGML by Pulse (commercial) also know Designer's Gallery and Floriani for home use.

Just got my new Babylock Imagine serger and I love it! I haven't reviewed it yet but will soon. The jet air threading really has to be experienced in person. I encourage you to visit a dealer and test drive one.

If I could buy any serger, it would be the Babylock with Jet air threading. I have a cheap brother serger that I love...but if I had the budget for one, I would buy the Babylock.
I'm fairly new to sewing but I am finding it to be fun and rewarding!
