I have copied this bra from an old bikini I had. It looks like a bra and it has channeling for the wires.

My question:
Is there a better channeling for swimsuit or I could just buy the regular ones for bras?

Call Ann St Claire's store Needle Nook in Kansas. They are pros on making bras and swim suits. They have an excellent selection of supples, fabrics too. They are great on the phone with answering questions and ship promptly. Good luck with your project.

Yes, regular bra channeling works just fine. You can also join the Bra Making Thread in the Beginners Forum. Many of us are making both bras and swimwear. Lots of research and links to suppliers there.
Bra Makers

Some history: It seems that RTW needed to make less swimwear sizes and have them fit more people (more profitable) so they took out fitted bras and put in a support shelf.

Those of us with larger bust lines that were old enough to remember the fitted bra suits, know how comfortable they were. At least I sure missed them!

Plus it seems that given time, salt water and chlorine destroy channeling fabric. Then the exposed wires are prone to burning the skin or even breaking the surface and that meant the bathing suit makers were open to lawsuits.
