Hi

I bought a sewing pattern online (in www.sewing-patterns.org). It is a dress sewing pattern for my daughter. I don't know if I can use a cotton fabric (with a little stretch). The tutorial says: "satin/cotton fabric". What do you think? This is the dress:

Thanks!

Is the cotton a knit or a woven?

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

Yes you can use a cotton for this. Make sre it is a medium weight though.

I think you could call this a 'polished cotton' or perhaps a 'cotton sateen'. Sometimes they come with some stretch.

I think this pattern would look lovely in a cotton sateen, go online shopping. It would also be nice, as a more casual (sun)dress in a good quality patterned cotton broadcloth.
