I am doing well, being diligent in keeping 1 pr. of scissors for fabric, and a 2nd pair for paper.

Here is my noob question of the day. Interfacing....do you use the fabric scissors, or paper scissors?

Good for you!! I only use my sharp Fabric scissors on Fabric - The interfacing can dull them so go with your Paper ones to cut that!

Got to keep the good ones, for the Good stuff

I actually have 3 pair. My Gingher for high quality, silk, slippery, delicate, etc fabrics. My Fiskars for basic cottons, easy to manage, ordinary fabrics.
My Titanium something for paper, cardboards, crafts, etc.
I am going to get a pair of Kai (my first) and use it to replace the Fiskar which has become nicked over time. Then use my Fiskars to cut fleece, fusible interfacing, polys, etc. I have heard great things about Kai.
And my pinking shears. But that's another category. I must have 10 specialty scissors. Oh well, SCD (Scissor Collection Disorder) takes up less space than SMAD.

sewing brings joy and meaning to my life...

You will love Kai scissors. I just bought my first pair and they are definitely the best scissors I have used. I held off on buying them, thinking they were super expensive, but they were not.

I use my fabric scissors. Anymore, though, I am using my rotary cutter for most things. I like it much better; I can cut the fabric flat and avoid the shifting the can occur with scissors. Then I just just my scissors for things the rotary can't do.

I have about 10 pairs of scissors, and 2 dressmaker's and one silk shears.

Aaaand...it depends. My paper scissors are for patterns, so it's one of the fabrics, and usually the applique scissors. For no apparent reason other then I tend to trim SA when french seaming on my ironing board and I cut my interfacing there, and use those. Even when I'm not, they seem to be the ones I use anyway. Unless, of course I have the tailor's, dressmakers, silk shears or pinking on hand.
