Butterick 5496 is the pattern I'm starting. I just cut out my fabric and now what do i use to transfer pattern markings? The fabric is sheer and heavily patterned in a multicolor zig zag pattern.

Tailors chalk? Marking pen? Suggestions?

How about Tailors' Tacks? Those little thread markings?

I think tailor tacks may be your only option. They don't take very long.

To do a tailor tack: Thread a needle with a contrasting thread. do not knot it. Take two stitches in the same spot which will be where you want it marked. trim both ends of the thread to about 1/2 to 1" long. Very easy to pull out and much easier to see than a marker on some fabrics.
