I have a Brother Quattro and an unopened Ellisimo III upgrade (the endless hoop). Does anyone know if I can use the Ellisimo upgrade on my Quattro?

Thanks,
Jennifer

I don't think this is possible because the upgrade requires you to update the software of the machine. There might be some specific computer code proprietary to Babylock that does not apply to Brother machines. You might also void your Brother warranty if you tried to install the upgrade and something went wrong.

Even though the two machines are "sisters/brothers" the software might be entirely different.

Hope this helps.

Jim

Hi, It wouldn't hurt to ask a Brother dealer and see what the person says.

I wouldn't risk it unless your Brother is under warranty. There is always the risk that you could confuse (corrupt) the Brother operating system and the dealer would need to install it.
I had that happen to my Ellisimo in 2010. Something just went haywire during the first Upgrade install and my BL screen went black. Dealer said it was a first for him. He reinstalled the BL System and no problems with any upgrades or updates since.

Thanks!! I don't think I'll risk it, I don't want to mess up my machine.

In the case of these upgrades mixing the brands products isn't possible. When doing the upgrade you need to get an activation code from the manufacture by registering your software upgrade code and the ID number of the machine via internet connection.. Without this code you will lock yourself out of the machine. Once a software upgrade is locked to a specific machine it can't be installed on another machine.
