Has anyone done much sewing with this fabric? How was it to work with? Would a heavier weight be suitable for pants?

It's just a type of rayon. I've got a couple of different colors of a nice, drapy, tencel twill that are definitely suitable for pants.

Like rayon, it comes in all different weights and weaves.

I'm thinking of using it to make Hot Patterns Marrakesh pants. Would it seem suitable for that application?

I have a couple of pairs of Lyocell pants, they are light and perfect for spring/summer.

It would depend on the weave and the weight. I've seen all kinds of tencels. Most of them are pretty drapey and would probably work with that pattern but, still, I'd swatch it if you don't have access to it on the bolt.
