Coastal Break top

I would love to turn this into a swimsuit top.... I think it would have great support! Any idea where I can find a pattern to start modifying from that is similar to the above link?

Thanks in advance for any help...

In the mid- to late 1940s, this kind of top was often part of playsuits patterns (as well as eveningwear--bare midriffs were hot). You might try ebay for something like "vintage pattern 1940s playsuit, beachwear," etc.

Not an exact match but a place to start. Translating all this to lycra will take a bit of work, though!

Nicegirl... your post inspired me to google for "fitted bodice" patterns.... a lo and behold, one of the patterns that came up is Vogue 2960

PR Vogue 2960

a pattern I myself have reviewed... it's been on my list to get in a bigger size, and it may just also translate, so between the two patterns it may just work out...
