Has anyone made this pattern?

According to the envelope I need to make a size 28W. When I buy RTW I take a 24W.

I've measured myself three times and keep coming up with size 28W.

Is the sizing true or does it run big?

RTW and sewing pattern sizing aren't the same. I wear a 10 or 12 RTW and 14 to 16 in patterns.

And more importantly...whatever the size is that fits and looks good on you is the right size! Happy Sewing :)

I would recommend Sewing for Plus Sizes by Barbara Deckert for some great info in sizing patterns to fit. I usually take my measurements...add about 3" for "ease", then layout the pattern pieces and measure them from seam to seam all the way around (removing seam allowances). Compare the two measurements and make adjustments to your pattern for a great fit.

Thanks for the sizing information Ė Iíll look up Barbara Deckert.

Iím surprised by the sizing in this pattern. Iíve found in the past that Simplicity usually runs big. I made the tank top from this pattern and itís too small around the waist.

This pattern runs very small Ė I made the 28W and in RTW I wear a size 22W. I know RTW and sewing patterns donít match but Iíve never had this big of a difference.

Iím going to have to tear the side seams and add fabric somehow but I really don't know how to do that so it'll take a bit of research to figure out the best way. The top isn't un-wearable but I donít like the tight fit.
