Help on back neck of self drafted tshirt for my son

I drafted up a tshirt for my son and the back neck bunches up. I'm not sure if it's the neckband causing this, or if I need to scoop out the neck a bit more to account for the neckband? What do you think?

It looks to me that the binding is a little too small for the neck edge. But that being said, as it hugs the back of him nicely (great job by the way!), you could get away with pinching out tiny 1/8" tucks on the pattern for the back of the shirt to accommodate the binding length.

As above, but it looks to me like the armhole may be a bit on the small side too??
