I lady I have worked with for the last 15 years is retiring. I want to give her a special gift, but not jewelry as she has tons. I got wine, and I made a wine bag and embroideried on the bag. I want to make a basket up with little things with the wine. I need ideas. I want them to be handmade and embroidery so they are unquie. Any ideas are helpful.

What about coasters? I wonder if you could figure out something that could be attached to the stem of a wine glass to identify it as yours...there are lots of interesting items like this, but some small fabric piece with a little embroidered logo could be cute.

ETA: 6 to 8 of those thing would be nice for having friends/family over.

I thought of that and have been looking at embroidery designs for something small that I could attach to a ring or such that could be attached to the stem bug can't find anything in suggestions of web-sites to search

Hi Mary!

Perhaps you could make her some wine glass slippers (coasters). They are super cute and unique and I'm sure you could add a bit of embroidery to them as well. Here is a free tutorial I found online.

There are in the hoop designs for wine glass coasters. Smartneedle.com maybe, but I know I've seen others. Also wine glass charms here:

I think for the wine glass thing if you wanted to make it and then embroider it... you could just do a straight rectangle, maybe 1/2"x 4" finished, with a ring in one of the short ends. To use it, wrap it around the stem and pull the free end through the ring?

Might could work.

Embroidered dish towels are my go-to gift for almost any occasion - and there are a ton of cute wine designs around.

If she likes to cook, that opens up a bunch of other options, like aprons, bowl covers (for rising bread), etc.
