Subject: May I post pics for advice? (Simplicity 8523) Date: 6/21/13 3:09 PM

I am working on the muslin for my first top, and I think it is going pretty well. However, as I get ready to put the last armhole facing in, I think I see some problem areas. Would you kind folks be willing to give me feedback if I post pictures?

That way I can hypothosize about what went wrong and see if I guessed right.

I'd be quite grateful. I'm at that point where I can identify certain problems, but others still confuse me. And slashing into my tissue scares me!

Don't slash your tissue, copy the pattern onto plastic or waxed paper first

Always trace your pattern pieces before altering them. That way, if you need to recut and start a piece from the beginning, you will have the original piece to re-trace. I use "doctor paper".

I put the images in a new post. I wish I *had* traced the pattern out before I cut it. Unfortunately, I cut the smallest size. :-(

Any chance you can find the discarded tissue & tape it back together? Otherwise, try to find this pattern on sale again.

Thanks. If I decide the pattern is useful for me, then I will do that. I may come to the conclusion that the shape isn't quite suited to me.

Don't worry about it. There will aways be another pattern.
