Well, I've been a busy bee today, working on reviews of past patterns and finishing up my muslin of my new top. I also added my patterns from my stash to my pattern list on this site, and I see that I have 17 patterns total! (I've only used three so far).

That's what I get for going to Joanne's when they had a 5 for $5 sale and then going to Daytona and taking advantage of their out of print and older patterns . . .

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with what I have, but it's making me think that I need to put them to use in a . . . erm . . . COORDINATED fashion. I see the "mini-wardrobe" competition coming up, and I was wondering about trying to put together my own summer "mini-wardrobe" competition.

How many people have done this? How do you plan yours?

I'm going to have to be careful so that I don't put things on my list that are beyond my skill level by too much. After all, the goal is to try out more patters and end up with things that I can wear that go together!

ETA: If you have done a mini-wardrobe challenge and want to link me to a blog about it or anything, I'd be glad to read.

I need to do something like this too but by the time I finished it the seasons would have changed.

I've been trying to make co-ordinated mini wardrobes for the last four months or so. I've finished two. Here's the tag on my blog for all the posts related to my attempts at this (not totally successful, not totally unsuccessful either!). I very roughly followed the Stitcher's Guild 6PAC approach, but in the end I made two collections of five things. I'm pretty new to garment sewing too, so I was definitely not operating from a position where I thought I could make a lot of complicated garments and I don't make some things at all yet (trousers, in particular).

One woman. One sewing machine. One giant stack of fabric. What could possibly go wrong?
