I like the idea of cotton knit, but I'm wanting something that's not opaque, and not overly drapey. Looks like the model's dress has a little beef to it. Any ideas?
I'm looking at Gorgeous Fabrics because her CS is so good. I have an email in to her for suggestions, but wanted to know of any other options you guys might have, since I'll need two fabrics in different colors from the same line, or at least weight and type. I love this look.

I think a ponte knit would work very well.

I second the motion, especially since ponte knits seem to come in a variety of thicknesses (not that I have much experience but that is what I have realized!)

Plus, this is the Fall collection so ponte makes sense.

What about wool knits? (Never seen or touched one in my life so far but the concept blows my mind, LOL!)

Ponte does sound like the logical option. No wool knit. I tried that once before - too itchy, and I want this unlined.

The first thing I thought when I saw this dress is Ponte knit. We are unanimous!

I have used wool blend ponte and rayon ponte. Either one would be great for this pattern.

I'd do it in french terry knit. Considering this would be, for me, the equivalent of a child standing by the door going "Out!" repeatedly, I could be warm and somewhat more comfortable in it then ponte.

Then it depends on what you plan on wearing it for. Me, it would be the dress equivalent to sweats.

Haha add me to the list of those who took one look and thought 'ponte'!

Marcy Stilton usually has a nice selection of pontes. Are you planning this for a winter dress? It looks like it will be warm in any fabric that's hefty enough for it.

Ponte knit for sure - make sure they are both the same weight - I think Fabric Mart has black ponte on their Crazy Fabric sale but an't be sure of the weight
