My Winter Wonderland quilt was accepted into the AQS Grand Rapids show!

I am so excited. I have no idea how picky they are in the acceptances, or if they take pretty much everybody, but the AQS shows are national shows, and the quality of quilts I've seen there are pretty astonishing. I am so so excited. I cannot believe my quilt is going to be hanging with all those other magnificent quilts.

I started this quilt about 1 year after I started free motion quilting (I've been FMQing about 2 years now) and it was meant as a sampler of progress. It turned out so well, I decided to enter it! (Mostly because a woman came to our guild and gave a speech that was essentially "show your quilts, you should show your quilts, think about showing your quilts.")

I am now struggling to attach a hanging sleeve, because I am not a hand sewer, I don't even do buttons by hand. If that part gets judged, I'm out. (But honestly, the machine sewn binding would probably put me out of the running anyway- though with fusing I think it is becoming more acceptable, but this isn't a fused quilt.)

The very first part of the quilt I did was the center of it, so I am going to pluck that out and fix it up just a little bit. Although there are SO many mistakes in this quilt, most aren't noticeable- but the very center is.

So excited!

I've shared the photo before, but this is it. The main element though is the quiting- very small scale, with a different design in each square. Started June 2012, Finished Feb 2013 (First ever FMQing- June 2011).
