Hi in trying to decide between singer 4411
Janome hd1000 or Toyota FSG 325.
Any idea ?
I sew mainly clothes and I would like to be able to manually adjust stitches and tensions. I do not need embroidery but I do like to be able to sew few layers together.

Of the three, I'd choose the Janome. It has been around as various versions for many years and is a proven, sturdy machine. If you can afford about $50 more, consider the HD3000. You can adjust the foot pressure on that one.

Welcome!

I agree with Karen. HD1000 is a proven model...no frills but strong and able. Has very good power and a wonderfully straight stitch. You'll have a single manual buttonhole but with just a little practice, it can look as nice as any.

Thank you. If it wasn't one of the three what do you recommend under $500

I have an older version of the HD1000 (mine is the TB-12). I *love* this machine. It's one of my favorites, and I have a ridiculous number of machines to compare it to.

I had a friend who owned a toyota machine. She hated it. Struggled owning it for a long time until she finally just couldn't stand it any more. She recently bought a Janome Sew Mini to work with while she saves for a better machine. Pretty sure she'll go for a Janome next time as well. The lower end Singers get really mixed reviews. Some people like them, and some people really hate them. I always get nervous about things with polarizing reviews like that.
