I noticed that Zappos has added a feature where you can look at all of their clothing models and see their measurements. Float your mouse over the image to see them (in the link).

I think this is extremely helpful in somewhat understanding how the clothes might relate to one's own body type.

(They also have some cute knit dresses -- good sewing ideas here.)

If you look at www.theoutnet.com (NAYY), what I have found very helpful is that they list the garment measurements. I thought this was a great way of deciding what size to order online.

For instance a boyfriend cut jean versus a pair of skinny jeans; of course the skinny has less wearing ease, but how much?!! And the boyfriend has more ease but do you want more than a 2" difference in the hip? And so on...

Just a thought

That IS very helpful! I know a lot of women probably don't want to share their measurements, but I always add it in my tagline so if people look at my reviews, they get an overall "picture" of my size in relation to pattern size and my reviews.

I was looking at the Jamie Christina Mission Maxi reviews last month and was hoping more people would share their measurements to help me assess a specific size to use. It's rarely done but is immensely helpful for me with independents.

Anyway, that Zappos feature is great!

------
Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)
Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing: Elna 760, vintage Kenmore Model 33 (1967), Janome Gem Gold 3. Sergers: Babylock Imagine and Babylock Enlighten. Embroidery Only: Janome 300E. Coverstitch: Janome CP1000. Straight Stitch: Janome 1600P.

If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

And that info you and others give is so very helpful. So Big thanks.

Maybe if not adding personal measurements then give the size used to make the garment?

Yes, that would be a great idea! Like a typical RTW size #.

All I get when I click on the link is a request to sign up to be a VIP customer. Then when I go to Zappos outside the link you provided I get nothing when I roll my mouse. Hmmm

Gad! Those prices are high, but I'm sure they're normal by today's standards. I haven't bought RTW since I can remember.

I am a Zappos VIP member, so maybe that's why.

I thought it was interesting because don't we all wonder how big those clothing models really are? I noticed one was about my size (I guess for the plus-sized clothes).

I doubt if I'd ever actually buy any clothes from Zappos, but I look occasionally out of curiosity.

I'm not a Zappos Customer, much less a VIP Customer.

But, here's a page with the measurements of the models. It didn't ask me to log in.
