My husband has requested a few shirts. I found a button up which he wants in heavy flannel and light denim. McCall's 6044
He also wants a few hooded sweatshirts, the ones in stores seem poor quality in his size.
He is a 3x and likes the tall fit better. (58 chest)
Where can I find a hooded pullover sweatshirt pattern?

I would look at Islander Patterns. They go up to 4X. They sell some of them here on PR. Kwik Sew used to make a 'king' sized line, you might find some them on Ebay or Etsy.
My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.
