I'm considering ordering the Professional dressform with collapsible shoulders from The Shop Company. They are in New Jersey and used to be called House of Display. The dressform looks good and the price is much better than the PGM forms. One difference is this is covered with canvas and the PGM is linen.

Has anyone tried this or does anyone know anything about this company?

Looks nice. I am a little surprised at their sizing...an 8 has a 36" bust.

It certainly isn't the same sizing used in patterns!

Comparing The Shop Company with PGM, they are close. TSC uses only whole number measurements, I wonder if they are rounding up if they have partial inches in a measurement.

The Shop Company dressform sizes:
size bust waist hips neck letter
0 32 24 34 12 (XS)
2 33 25 35 13 (XS)
4 34 25 35 13 (S)
6 35 26 36 13 (S)
8 36 27 37 14 (M)
10 37 28 38 14 (M)
12 38 29 39 15 (L)
14 39 30 40 15 (L)
16 41 32 42 16 (XL)
18 44 35 45 17 (XXL)
20 48 42 49 18 (XXXL)

and PGM

I just purchased one from http://www.fashionsuppliesinc.com/

Call and talk to them about how to measure yourself to be sure it will work out. I purchased the full body dress form so I could use it to make pants.

You always have to pad it to make it the same as your body. You can't make it smaller, but you can pad it to make it bigger.

I don't think I'd like the canvas as it would be difficult to push pins into.

When blocking the dress form, don't use tape because it will ruin the form after a while with the sticky from the tape. Use a thin ribbon pinned in place.

I love mine and found the company nice to work with.

I looked up the one from fashionsuppliesinc.com and it is expensive at $599. Looks nice though. Thanks for the use tips, sewdoggie22.

Here are some photos of three different dress forms. I flipped the image of the third one so I could compare the side profiles. They look different. Is it my imagination or does third one have more of a forward neck stance than the other two?

The price of the first is really tempting. How different from the PGM might it be?

The Shop Company at $215

PGM at $399

Fashion Supplies Inc. at $599

I think you're right about the neck...it does look that way. It also looks thicker around the stomach?
I have a PGM and do love the linen covering.
The Shop Co. one looks nice.
