Hi.
My Bday is coming up and I plan in getting the Janome Coverpro 1000 CPX. I would appreciate if you could share how much you paid for yours so I can negotiate a fair price with my local dealer. Prices with sewing machines/ sergers varies so much!
Also, what are accessories are a must?

I paid $400 for mine in February of 2010 from a dealer in Flagstaff, AZ. They also included the bonus pack (extension table, clearview foot, and elastic gathering foot). It was the last one they had and I couldn't pass it up at that price.

I have purchased generic binders from Ebay (I think it was Sharp Sewing Supply) but haven't had a chance to play around with them very much.

If you check out the pinned thread at the top of this sub-forum you will find lots of information on the binders, needles, and other accessories.

Happy birthday, I hope you find a great deal too!

Wow, $400 for the 1000 is amazing. I paid $640 for mine a few weeks ago and did not get any special add-ons. $400 is usually what you pay for the 2-needle 900 model on the internet. The 1000 is not offered on the internet.

I did buy a generic attachment for making belt loops. I also have the Gidget 2 sewing table for my Pfaff (the center section drops down so the machine bed is level with the table surface.) I can put the coverpro in that to mimic the effect of the extension table.

I'm not saying the attachments are bad, but I want to see how far I can get with what I have before I dump hundreds of dollars in the mounting plate (needed for the binders) or other specialized attachments.

Good luck with your search.

I bought mine through a local deal for $649. Yes, I could have paid less, but I'd like to see them stay in business.

This was a 1000 CPX BRAND NEW? Not a floor model CP? Because that is a price that tells me they are dumping that machine. $659-$679 is a good price to pay for one from a real store with real people that know the machine and can help you when you get stuck.

Hmm, that post is fro 3-1/2 years ago. I haven't found anything less than 639 - 659 at any dealers around here or neighboring counties.

I recently shopped around for a 1000CPX and the best price I could find for a new machine from a dealer in the area was time limited promotion for $599 (plus $100 for the bonus kit).

After over 3 months of watching, I lucked out and found a barely used machine on CL for which I ended up paying $425. I added the bonus kit for $80 from Ken's Sewing and am very happy indeed.

I just went shopping for one to purchase today. Thought I would come home with a new toy. $750. Yikes I thought they would be competitive! He was going to throw in the extension table top (I think that's what you call it- $80 value) if I paid today and then waited for him to get one in. I'm checking Craig's list and eBay now with no luck.

Yes, it was a brand new 1000 CPX. I did mention I purchased it in 2010 and it seems like prices have risen quite a bit.
