I downloaded a design from the Ibroidery site. I can see it on my embroidery machine but would really like to view it on it my computer. I found on the Brother site that they have a "PEN viewer" that can be downloaded so that you can see the design on the computer. Has anyone done this?

I downloaded Wilcom TrueSizer to view designs on the computer. It's free and supports several embroidery file formats.

I have Embird and it won't read the files. I think it's due to the proprietary format they come in (PEN instead of PES). I looked at the Wilcom site and PEN isn't listed. I have a feeling that it's either this PEN viewer or nothing.

I just brought up TrueSizer to check and you're right, PEN is not an option.

Is this a free download on the Ibroidery site? If so, I might have to get it for the times I use their designs.

I didn't see it on the Ibroidery site but found it on the Brother site. I think it was in the support section.
This is my first design I've purchased from them. Do they stitch out as nice as the ones that come with the machine?

You need Brother software that will read the .pen format.

Like this one.

It has to be the latest version. See more information here - Vewing iBroidery format: pen.

The Pen Viewer is not for viewing the .pen embroidery format. It is for veiwing PDF files.

Ask Brother to be sure before you download something that you do not need.

Thanks for the clarification.
I'm not home right now but I'm pretty sure my PED-Basic is the latest version. I did use it to transfer the downloaded design to a card. I was just hoping to be able to view it in some sort of editing software.
