The 7 Series Bernina machines, 750Q and 780, have the same embroidery unit as the 8 Series, allowing for the use of the Bernina Jumbo Hoop. The 780 has more incorporated embroidery features, than does the 750Q. Have your dealer demo both for you, then choose.

However, the 7 series cannot use the entire field of the jumbo hoop. If I recall correctly, 20% of the left side of the hoop cannot be used. The 8 series has a 12" harp, while the 7 series has 10".

The Bernina website shows max embroidery field of 8 1/4" (width) and 15 1/4" (length) for the 7 series

Yes, the useable field of the Jumbo Hoop is 1.5" narrower, at the widest point, on the B750/780 than it is on the 830. In six months of use, this has not been a problem for me.

Are you using the new 7 series jumbo hoop template or the 8 series?

If using the 8 series template, is it easy enough to center for use with the 7 series machines?

After using the Jumbo hoop a lot with my 830LE, I think this would get on my nerves.

I think using the 8 series template on the 7 series would drive me nuts...but apparently there is now a new 7 series template for the Jumbo hoop, which centers according to the 7 series field. So the center point would be off-center in the hoop itself, but I don't think that will bug me as long as the 7 series template shows where the center point is.

Would be nice if they made a 7 series "jumbo" hoop, though.

I am using the 8 series template. Isn't really bothering me, although it would be nice not to have compensate. I just keep forgetting I would like the 7 series when I make the trek across the mountains.

I have the 7 Series Jumbo Hoop template. No problem.
